A breakfast that promotes healthy brain function and immune support

I have been traveling up the coast of California now for a few months and realize just how challenging it can be to stay on track with maintaining my healthy lifestyle habits while away from home. I’ve found that when I am away from home over these last few months and out of my comfort zone, without my juicer, blender and other appliances I use daily to support my lifestyle, my mind will make excuses on why its okay to have junk food and consume worthless calories. I am not implying that I eat lots of junk food and worthless calories, just that I believe it is an issue that we all struggle with in some way while traveling and maybe in everyday life.

This is where i’ve found that planning ahead is really critical so you don’t allow yourself to reach the point of extreme hunger where you will eat anything to fill those hunger pains deep in the stomach! These are a few key items that I have been traveling with that help me get an Energetic start in the mornings and provide a healthy dose of antioxidants and vitamins! Most of these items don’t need to be kept on ice, which makes them ideal for traveling. Keeping it simple is always the best!

**Remember it’s not about how much you eat, it’s about how much you absorb and utilize of what you eat that is of importance.


These are my key items:

-Bananas (buy plenty of them ahead of time so you can allow them to ripen with brown spots before eating) Rich in B vitamins and potassium

Oranges and clementines– easy to peel and you can store anywhere

-Dates– sweet and provide a good amount of carbohydrates and calories, they can be stored anywhere

Blueberries- provides a nutritious dose of antioxidants, vitamin C & K, manganese, fiber and copper

Goji Berries- Rich in antioxidants, they contain all 8 essential amino acids, and they are high in Vitamin A and a good source of Vitamin C and iron. Also great for Strengthening the immune system, aid digestion, and can improve eyesight.
